Email1:

I am sending you this message to inform you about a New Book that my colleague XXX and I are working on. This book will be published by Palgrave Macmillan Publications, New York, and is part of the Democracy, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship for Growth (D.I.E4GROWTH) Book Series.

As we have seen that you hold a particular research interest in innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship topics, we would like to invite you to participate in the development of this book by contributing original articles, written for this very publication, as well as previously published journal articles and conference proceedings. Please find below the link to the official Call for Contributions for the Edited Book, titled “The Entrepreneurial Rise in South-East Asia: How does the Quadruple Helix influence technological innovation?”

Antwort:

I am very honoured by this invitation and I actually do like the topic. I was also thinking about my contribution.

Still there is someting which, to be honest, makes me really think that you must be kidding me:

The book series the work will be published in is called DIE4Growth!? You must be joking here, honestly. Please be so kind and tell me, that this is not true.

Email2:

Thank you for this reply. The DIE for Growth Book Series is a novel attempt from Palgrave Macmillan Publications, aiming to include significant contributions regarding technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship in the chosen research contexts.
DIE is the initials for Demogracy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, which are the fundamentals for Growth.

For any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We are looking forward to receiving your contribution.

Und, lustig, oder?

TranscriberAG

Since Juli 2011 (!?) Transcriber is officially renamed and is now called TranscriberAG. Yes, since 2011. We somehow missed that. Well. The program is available for the common plattforms and it is Open Source (GPLv3). The main features can be found here. We are looking forward to first user experiences from your side. We didn’t manage to build the program yesterday on our favorite platform.

Open Code – CAQDAS from Sweden

While we are organising a conference on methods in Leipzig, we’ll continue here at the CAQDAS front. Open Code is not actually new (recent version 3.6) but we stumbled upon this piece of software just today. It is developed by the Department of Public Health and Clinical Medicine at the university of Umeå. They are focussing on the relveant: codes, memos, categories. You won’t find any wild and uncomprehensible graphics or diagrams. It might be also quite easy to use the program. Open Code is a recommendation to all of you who dislike excessive software user interfaces, who get distracted easily by unneeded functionality. Further, it is for those who know that qualitative analysis is more than pushing some buttons of a software. Unfortunately, only Windows users will enjoy the simplicity of Open Code.
